  • Kansas City Here I come

Any members in the KC area? I will be in KC for a few days during the 3rd week of March on business. Looking for ways to stay out of trouble and do something productive. And.... Always looking to meet new airplane folk and love to talk Tcraft and old airplanes. Even better is looking at and flying them.

I live about an hour and a half Northwest of KC. When will you be in town and where? If it is nice and I am not at work, maybe we can exercise the 195. Can't make any firm promises, though.

      Hey... Greg
That would be cool. I will be there Mar 21, 22, and 23 at an FAA public meeting about aging aircraft. My dad restored a C-195A, N9880A when I was a kid. I helped a lot and have a lot of co-pilot seat time. He sold the airplane 2 weeks after I solo'd it. Awesome bird. Crosswing landing gear was forgiving, but odd to get used to.

      Tell me about your Tcraft?

My trip schedule is not fully clear yet, but I think evenings will be pretty free after 4 or so. Email me offline - [email protected].

Re: Kansas City Here I come

You would have to pick the days I have to work. I fly for UAL and will be on a trip to Shanghai on those days. Drat.

My Taylorcraft is a long story. I have owned it for several years and have never seen it. It went through a major restoration and had a paperwork snafu. That nightmare is about over and I should be able to take delivery on it soon. BTW it is a 1941 BC12-65. The sixth from the last one made before they went into war production.

Have a nice trip and I am sorry I can't get with you when you are here.

          Greg

Just thought I would rekindle this post. Anyone from the KC area who might be around during the week of 3-21 thru 3-24 2006?
