  • Looking for NC26581

This was the ship Grace Huntington did her altitude record setting flight.

    Taylorcraft NC26581 with Cont. engine # 467608

Has anyone see or heard of it?

Berkeley was nice enought to send us a presentation he made on his mothers flight which will be on our web site in a few days. He will be checking on getting the file at the FAA.

    Bob:

I don't know where Grace's plane is...but I am curious, how did she do it? Did Grace weigh 40 pounds or something? Even then, it seems like an impossible altitude.

This will be interesting. She must have weighed little and of course flew the prewar wich also weighs little ...bet hers weighed even less than the "normal little " Looking foward to this.

huh? Your link goes to a picture of CG and a story about who sued who in the T-Craft breakup. Did I miss something?

She died VERY young. Pretty sad!

Went and flew to 13K today after reading the story. It was kind of interesting to see the MD-80 flying below me.

Thank you so much for sharing this interesting story. I am going to make sure my wife Judy sees it. She is in training for the Sport pilot license, studying for the written. She needs to see confidence building stories like this. Thanks again.

Dave, Have Judy work on bladder control or install a system for Ladies and we can tank your ship for a time in air record with no re fueling! Enjoyed the visit the other day. Will work up more stuff on Grace this afternoon.
