  • Note of Interest (T-Craft for sale)

Tribe, have you noticed that there were no "T-Craft's" for sale in the last issue of Trade-A-Plane ? I find that very interesting. I don't believe I have ever seen that before.

Lots of Aeroncas and Cubs and a couple Luscomb's and Ercoupes.

Prices on these aircraft may well be comming up ? Hold on guys. You have one of the finest airplanes flying.

    Lee:

I don't follow T-Craft for sale, but I DO watch T-Craft parts for sale on eBay. And that market is HOT! There must be a bunch of folks out there repairing and restoring Taylorcraft.

Check out p. 74 of the Feb. issue of Sport Aviation..."The old saying that nothing flies like a Taylorcraft was proven again"

I'm willing to bet there are thousands of EAA'ers who have never heard that old saying, but they have now. Thank you, Sport Aviation. Remarks like that and the new LSA rules are bringing long overdue attention to a great design.

Well Lee, there's alot of Bobs around and I'm not related to all of them. And I don't know any T-6 owners.

I wonder if LSA is going to cause old Tcrafts to be pulled out of barns, garages, and whatever by the 100's. Would be good for all of us and aviation in general. Can't have too many Tcrafts. Makes good aviators, too.

I saw a Taylorcraft BC12-D sell on e-bay recently for $19,950. Guy had 29 bids. Its about time the T-Craft got what it was due. I've flown a Cub, I'll stick with the BC12-D.

(sigh) This may be the same thing as saying "where is a policeman when you need one?", but does it seem all the Tcrafts for sale are in the far west? - Mike

Mike, or far east (coast). In Louisiana, when you find something you might like, it is always far away A guy in Sugarland TX had one for sale, but airplane was in IL. And he didn't want to fly it down here, althou he was now living here. Makes you wonder??

Guess, I will keep looking for an engine.0-200 or something. The VG's help, but I need that extra power to get two out of my strip, safely.

I have found myself with two airplanes. If I want to be able to fly with anyone I like, I'll have to fly a 4 place. Its either that or loose weight, and lots of it. My other plane is a C-172. It too has a zero time engine (Now).

Hey Rick, are you going to Columbia this year? I haven't been able to get ahold of Ron to find out when it is this year. Do you have any idea, or know how to get ahold of Ron?

Just left Ron & Rosemary a voice mail, will post the dates when I get them. I plan to do another custom T-Shirt again. I do expect to be there in the BC12-D or the C-172 if its here by then.

Keep us Posted on Columbia. Looking foreward to attending this year if I get the engine on in time. If not may try to fly up in a Maule. May do the Maule anyway if I can get my son to fly the tcraft. That way I can get more grandkids interested.
