A special thanks to Jerry Self for letting me study his BC12D and taking up a good part of his day. You're a good man Jerry! I promise I won't tell anyone that you live in Shelby, NC and that you have a great grass strip that is just begging airplanes to land on it. Does anyone know where to find the plastic fairleads for the BC12D rudder and aileron cables. ( It might have been R. Lees web sight that I saw them). Also, the "D" window on the BC12D. How does the frame install on to the fuselage. and how does the window itself install? Do I cut my own from plexiglass? Someone lead me by the hand! Also, the 12 gal gas tank in the fuselage had the filler neck come all the way out. I think that the tank is aluminum and the neck is for sure steel. Any ideas on how to put it back together-- welding--gluing?

Re: Fairleads,Windows, Fuel Tanks
from what I can tell the "D" window frame was originally designed for the pre war aircraft with the smaller doors. SO fitting it to a post war with the all alum door moves it back a bit and the diag tube that runs under the frame on the early ships now runs across the window when installed. Check out Rob Lee's rebuild pics for a better description.

Re: Fairleads,Windows, Fuel Tanks
My tcraft was built in dec 45, certified 01/03/46, has cloth cover doors and metal door frame with wood only on bottom of door frame. Will the prewar windows fit? GeorgeTF# 702 Don't be afraid to try something new. Remember amatuers built the ark, professionals built the titanic!
