Re: Leaky Wing Tanks
Having just installed a new tank in one wing and removed/replaced the other one, I have some questions for anyone who says you can cover the tanks with aluminum and screws or rivnuts...
1. How do you take out the intetrnal drag wires without punching holes elsewhere in the wing to get at them?
2. How do you re-trammel the wing through the one empty bay with the aluminum removed?
3. How do you keep the fabric tension taut across that open bay? Where do you anchor the fabric securely at the opening?
4. How do you get the drag wires out without taking the wings off the fuselage anyway?
5. How often are you planning on removing and repairing the wing tanks, that justifies the modification?
