I recently purchased a set of Aero 2000 skis for my BC-65. As far as I can tell the plane has never been on skis before and so I was wondering what type of paperwork maybe required. Thanks for any input.
I have a set of rigging drawings for Federal 1500's I'd be glad to e-mail to you. Your IA will have to submit a 337 and complete a weight and balance for the first time install...I don't think Aero 2000 are on the TC so if you have an STC from the manufacturer that would be good. Call Wipaire in Minneapolis/ St. Paul I believe they are the owners of the STC and rights to Aero Skis. Not sure though. Do you have the bushings for tapered axels? or were they for an F-19, 21B, 22 etc. it makes a big difference. there was a set for sale on ebay for federal 1500's. I don't know if they are compatible but you could check.
Dano - I called Aero Ski Manufacturing in Brooten, MN and talked to a gentleman by the name of Troy. They had the axle adapters which I purchased (cost of $87.89, FOB AK), but he was unaware of whether he had any paperwork around pertaining to the Taylorcraft. He said he would check and get back to me.
Lance - Any chance I could get a copy of your 337?

As soon as i can get to where my logbooks are i will copy the 337 for you . I also have the drawings of how to rig the skes but they are for the springs if that will help. I have the 337 for the plastic bottoms to. Do you still need them or have you already done the install???
Lance.
Rigging drawings for Federal 1500's are available at treetopflyers.org/tech This is a website dedicated to ski flying...looks like a fun loving bunch too! The first link goes to the technical area...here is the home page: treetopflyers.org

finaly i have all the copys of the 337s I tried to send them to you email but your mailbox is full it says over quota. I have the 337 for the aero 2000, the atlee springs, the plastic bottoms and the ske brace that is welded between the landing gear.
I would really like to have a copy of the 337 for the brace that is welded to the landing gear, and the one for the plastic bottoms. I have an old pair of Federals that have already been installed (by previous owner).

I just finished putting new plastic bottoms on my Federal 1500's. I had a piece of ugly green plastic laying around for years, when I suddenly realized it matched my plane perfectly. It turned out better than I thought. See pictures HERE
Dick,
That's great footage...it's even a T-Craft...that's great. March is always the best ski flying around my home...longer days...sunny days, and still good ice on the lakes. I usually take the skis off after the second week in march to make sure there is enough snow on my grass strip to land for the change over. This year the change over will be right to floats. I can't wait. Have fun in the big AK
