  • Problems with "Trim"

Was having difficulty with my trim the last few days. Pulled the baggage out to ck, but couldn't get to the trim overhead, ended up cutting the headliner. The part that moves the needle had come out and was making it hard to turn. Reinstalled it, but it is still making a rough noise. Will ck further into that today. Will require a patch over the portion cut below trim handle. Thinking about making a patch and velcro it in place.

Damn, just sixty yrs old and already having problems with the trim system. They just don't build them as they did when my grand father and Wilber were flying.

Speaking of Wilber. Does anyone know who the Charles Taylor that was the mechanic for them was ? Interesting that Wilber Wright had a Charles Taylor as a Mechanic.

LOL, my trim ain't what it used to be either!

Here is a link to some info on Charles Taylor. There is other information out there also, including information on FAA Master Mechanic award named in his honor. Google search will get you started.

Thanks Whitaker; Always wondered about him. Have not read the entire article yet, but will do so soon.

Gotta go finish my trim repair.

And two of you are correct at near 70, not everything works as they used to.lol But keep trying, gotta get it right one of these days.

Still want a T-Craft with 0-200 or 85/90. But preferable an 0-200, with starter.

Also would not mind a clipwing, but I want the two place. Either center stick or two sticks, with 0-200
