Thanks. I'm wondering from what factory? Conway Pa.? and whats a normal price? 8 years since an annual, bird nest under the cowling and a little green from sitting outside. Dan

Has it been flown at all in the last eight years and has it set inside or outside all that time?
These are big factors on it's value.

It has not been flown and has been outside the whole time.

Well If it has been outside the last eight years and is out of annual and has not been flown THEN Is the owner really selling? Reason I ask is that a lot of people follow that MO with varoius planes. They generally never sell em till they are dead or all thats left is a big pile of dog mess. This if indeed for sale is what we call a "project" That may be being nice. I would say go over it real real good then figure what it will cost to get it flying again THEN when you buy it and take off the covering you will find that you needed to double that figure. That said it is a "rarer Tcraft" but that wont make it fly....hard cold ol cash (LOTS OF IT ) WILL. Best of luck . Hope you can get it and restore it.

Like I said before, if you don't want it I would like to check it out. I love t-crafts and try to save all I can. This bird would be a great next project. Let me know if you decide not to buy it.

Keep us all posted. But I also agree this will be a really big project. As was said figure what it will cost then double it, and you probably won't be far off. If you are planning on a restoration for resale, remember regardless of the amount of money spent, it will only bring what the market will bring.

Here's a couple of pics. The owner thinks it could fly tomorrow. I think it's worth half what he's asking. I'm not afraid of a project but don't want to pay too much. What's a ballpark figure? Dan

                        Re: Bc12d-85

I know that exact plane and have a few pics of it myself. There are a lot of wrong things like the big rust holes in the lower portion of the wing struts! I wouldn't even want to taxi that thing around. Do not expect this thing to be a flyer, I will do a pre-buy for you if you want. I am over at the Monroe airport if you have any questions. Its an honest $5K project plane needing a complete rebuild. I know for a fact there is a lot of rotted out parts in that one. From what I remember it seemed to me like they had put a -12 engine in it and shimmed the mount and added a 1.5" strip around the back of the cowling to make it fit. That thing was on floats and operated in salt water. I doubt any of the work was ever documented or approved. I don't know if anyone els caught the modified rudder pedal bar mounting blocks.

Run! don't walk and damn sure don't fly, there are many better projects around and many flyers.

Might be a good parts plane. And with lots of money and time a project. If it were closer, but wouldn't spend the money to transport it. Kevin. Jim. This is your type for your projects.

I wrote old fourcylchev and told him the same thing. If he is looking for project great buy it and then go find the rest somewhere. It can be done and done well. In fact if he bought it he would have an engine, data plate, logs and a bunch of good parts. I just would not fly that plane away form that location if its been there unhangered for 8 years.
