  • Tapered shaft Continental A-65

Hello: Went to Castroville, TX last night to look at a wooden Sen prop - had some dings on the armored sides and light corrosion on the prop bolts. The prop appeared to have been over tightened with compression of the wood where the tapered adapter fit into the back of the hub. Saw the engine it came off of..."running" tapered shaft A-65 with Slick mags - supposedly reassembled with ~ 300 hours since reassembly (I did not inspect the logbooks). The Stromberg carburetor was off, but "available". This engine/prop was replaced by a Cont 200 on an Aeronca 7AC. Owner wants ~$4,500 for all...I passed on the prop...and the engine, as I am reassembling a flanged shaft A-65. If interested, the owner is Glen Weiblen, CP 210-259-1422. Doc.
