  • MIssoula Montana?

I will be in Missoula Montana 1-23-06 to 2-3-06 at a parachute rigger course with the US Forest Service. Anyone live close? I would love to see a bit of Montana- Also- any suggestions on things to do would be welcome-

You might look up Argus Barker in that area. He was from Alliance, Oh and owned the Model 19 that Mr. Feris built up in the factory about 1972-74. He used to make guns in Missoula. Tell him the call, write or e-mail!!

      Eric,
I'm about 125 North of MSO... will you have any spare time, or is the rigger's course running long days and nights? I'd be glad to give ya a "two bit tour" of our area if I can get away for a while.

John- I think I am off on the weekend and will have a rental car. I would love to look around. Let me know the best way to get in touch- thanks!

          Eric,

North of Missoula is Glacier National Park. The first time I saw it I was shooting a non precision approach with the cloud bases just below the tops of the mountains. Breaking out into the valley near Flat Head Lake, I felt like I was entering the land that time forgot. You have to see it to believe it. I doubt if you can drive it in the winter, but there is a road that goes all the way around the park. Weather permitting, maybe you can bum a ride in a plane and see it by air. I promise you will want to come back again when you can spend more time and see it better. I have been to Yosemite and Yellowstone. I'll take Glacier over either of them any day. Take your camera!

Thanks for the STC info you sent!

Eric, I'm in SoCal right now and will be for a few more days, but I'll shoot ya an email with all the info when I get home on the first.
Glacier is all closed right now, but there's still plenty to do and see.
