  • Stromberg carb conversion

Does anybody know if a Stromberg NAS3B for a 65 Cont. can be converted to one for an 85hp?

Looks like the venturi can be changed from the 1 1/4" to a 1 5/16" and the main metering jet can be changed. Is this all that needs to be done?

And can this be done legally, by a certified shop for example, while doing an overhaul on the carb?

The old faithful Marvel Scheblers are getting very hard to find for the C85's. I know someone has an STC to use an O-200 carb on a C85, but are there any other carb options for C85's on certified planes.

Any suggestions out there for Tami T-Craft's new carb? I've got her old NAS3B...........

Cheers, and Happy New Year to all.

    Hi Jon,

Long time no hear. When I upgraded to the 85, it came with a carb, The body is the same, the differences lie in the venturi and float level. I don't see any reason why it couln't be changed as part of an overhaul, it's on the TC for the engine, so the carb just needs to comply.
