Bob, the Port Townsend Aero Museum (located on my home airport, Jefferson County 0S9 in Washington) is looking for an unairworthy A-65 crank for a display-only engine they're putting together. So they could use your old crank. Besides doing them a good turn, they're a non-profit, tax-deductable operation so you can write off the donation value (no funny business now!) on your taxes.
If anyone else has any antique/vintage airplane stuff to donate or trade you can contact museum director Jerry Thuotte thru their website
Visit Port Townsend Aero Museum to explore historic aircraft and engage in our youth mentorship programs, preserving aviation's future.

    Tell them I sent you.

I have a reground 10 under flanged 65 cont shaft. It is not useable as the grinding was not in accordance with FAA standards--no yellow tag. It can be redone to 20 under I believe. I have no need for it!

Check to see how large the lighting hole is through the crank pin. Some shops will not grind the crankshaft with the large hole through the crank pin.
AC Spec in Tulsa has the .020 .020 STC so you should check with them.

                Re: crankshaft cont. 65

I have a tapered A-65 crank that has been reworked by the good folks in OK. It is ground to .020 and has been plated, heat treaded and all. Comes with set of bearings and thrust washers. Yellow Tagged and STC to cover .020 grind job, I understand there is only one outfit in the world that can do that and sell the bearings for it. I have the invoice where I paid $803 for the work and parts. Its never been out of the box they shipped it in. I would sell it for what I paid them, meaning, the crank shaft would be free!
