  • What model is this?

I have a fuselage and I'm not sure what model it is.....it's slightly different than my BC12Ds. Here's a photo (hopefully) of the top front of the fuselage. It has several more tubes in this area, plus the there's a small box welded on the inside of each side of the fuselage about half way back.

    Hi,
It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a pre-war B model fuselage. I believe that the extra tubing in the windshield area was to accomadate the four piece windshield. Can you get a S/N from the door hinges? That will help date it. I have no idea what the boxes might have been for. Flares maybe? Any more pics?

Early B is correct , check ser# if door hinges still there. Extra tubes probably for an experimential of some type , maybe going to use for a clip wing with BIG engine , more pics maybe?

There was a basket case haning from rafters here in Los Angeles that sold 6 months ago. It had some extra diagonal tubes welded in the fuselage frame, but not for aerobatics. Some idiot wanted to make a heavy duty bushplane out of it, with wet wing fuel tanks, etc. etc. It may have wound up in Oregon.

I'm sure there's been nothing done to this, I'm just not very familiar with the "old" ones. I do know where it's been for at least the last 7-8 years. Thanks for all the info!
