I'll try to attach some pics from the tip of the boot of Louisiana. Roads and communities South of Port Sulphur are underwater. Levee breaks are numerous. Birdwin Airstrip (7LA1) is underwater so pilots use roads segments.
The car in one of the pics is right off of one of the improvised airstrips. The big red thing behind the car is a fishing boat on its side. Because of the levee breaks, some areas are flooding, emptying and reflooding with the normal tides.
I spent the last couple of days mucking out my brother's house trying to save it. It's in New Orleans, so we had to evade Police and National Guard just to get to the house. We threw out all of the downstairs furniture, carpet, sheetrock, insulation and thick layer of muck on the floor.
