I've been thinking of putting in a skylight per the Clayton STC, does anyone know of a phone # or email address for him? Or is there only the regular snail mail method of contact?

He has lots of experience with Taylorcraft......LE slats, flaps, NO2 power boost, external load carrying rack, and so on. I watched him roll down a remote lakeside hill on tires, hit the lake water and skim for a bit, then take off and return to skim back to shore and up the same hillside runway. I was planting trout in the lake from a floatplane but never seen anything like that before. Crazy.

Gary, I'm still amazed at how these guys can hydroplane along on the water and not be on there backs in a second. Wonder how you learn to do that the first time? Must be with someone who's done it before I'm guessing. Hope I get to talk to him for a bit, love all the knowledge these guys have. Seems like Alaska is the place where a lot of innovation has started.

They learn by doing brief T&G's at speed preferably with large tires. Not sure about the use of brakes to stop tire rotation. I've landed short of a gravel strip in a river but speed was up and we didn't flip. Not caring to know more about the maneuver. Yes visit with Greg as he's very knowledgeable as was his pilot father George Clayton.
