  • PayPal!!

Yesterday I had a person offer a deposit on my a/c via PayPal.
Darn good idea, 'cause the money doesn't move if the money isn't in his account. Apparently the money moves within hours. I thought PayPal was limited to e-Bay, but apparently not. Think I"ll get a PayPal account just in case. - Mike

It will cost ya! But not if you don't plan to use it a lot.

Oh - I've never used it. Do they charge a percentage of what you send? - Mike

        Re: PayPal!!

If I recall, it only costs you if you are accepting credit cards like a merchant, and you upgraded your account frm basic to not basic. Check with them before you sign up to see which type of account costs you money.

I have used paypal both sending and receiving and found it to be very user-friendly and efficient. I got an e-mail from a guy one evening saying he would send me money in a few minutes, and I got a paypal e-mail acknowleding the payment within half an hour.

The only thing that seems like extra effort is if you want to make a cash withdrawal. I think they credit your bank account with a wire transfer or something.

If you plan to accept payments from Credit Cards customers more than one a month then you need a commercial account, which does cost a %. Im sure the % has changed. Likly the rules have too.

I have a PayPal debit card so I just go to an ATM when I need cash out or I use it like a Credit Card (Visa).

I've had it for years (& years)

            Re: PayPal!!

I use PayPal periodically both for my business and for personal stuff. I've paid and accepted payment, in and out of E-Bay. I've never used it to accept a credit card as I can do that through my merchant account, but otherwise it's been free and painless. A South American customer got me started on it.
