  • How to ....

The only way I've found to login is to start the process of replying or starting a new thread. Is there a way to login first thing?

Under "Daily T'craft Discussion" there are 25 or so threads. I see the hyperlink "Mark this Forum Read". How do I select an individual thread (i.e. "I'm baaaaack!") or the entire "Daily T'craft Discussion" forum as 'read'? - Mike

If you are not already logged in, there should be an option at the bottom of the main screen giving you the option to log in ( you may have to scroll the screen down a bit). If you browser has Cookies Enabled, you should be automatically logged in each time you come back to the site using the same computer.

As far as I am aware, the only way to mark an individual thread as 'read' is to go into it.

As far as marking all threads 'read', if you'll scroll down to the bottom of the main entry screen, look at the bottom right hand corner. There is a link that says "mark all forums read". This will mark everything as read.

The link you referred to above that says "Mark this Forum Read" will mark an entire forum (such as the Daily T'craft Disuccsion) as read.

Hope this was presented in a way that isn't too confusing.

No need to logout unless another member of the T'craft group will be using your computer. If someone wanted to post something under their ID rather than yours, you'd need to log out and they'd need to login.

I'm trying out the search capability.
I knew there was a message entitled "Converting A-65 to 75hp", so I searched for the words converting, A-65, to, 75hp (without the commas).
It said the 'A-65' was too short a word.
Any hints on using the search engine? - Mike

the search feature creates an index for every word used in every post... so its pretty big. To keep it from overloading with words that are unlikely to be searched on there is a setting as to the shortest word to add to the index; and thats currently set to skip words of 3 letters or less.
