Re: copper tubing gas line?
I can answer your question from a legal stand point of view. Tell your friend his aircraft does not meet it's type designe and is not in a safe condition for flight. Reference the airworthiness certificate in the aircraft because this is the statement that is on it.
Copper lines is for experimental aircraft and not type certificated aircraft. Aircraft is UNAIRWORTHY. Not having saftey wire or cotter pins UNAIRWORTHY. Fiber nuts forward of the firewall UNAIRWORTHY.
Needless to say if he has insurance have the above items install will in most cases void the policy.
From a FAA stand point he is flying an UNAIRWORTHY aircraft in violation of part 91.7 and is endangering people on the ground 91.13 careless and reckless.
I would tell your friend in a strong manner to ground his aircraft and make repairs as needed. Now that you know about unairworthy items and if something should happen guess who the lawyer will come after for duty to warn?
Just one man's opinion.
