  • Rib fasteners

Here's one to throwout to you guy's, when I get to the ribs on my wings covering job I have an STC for screws into the ribs, while others have said a rib stich does a better job. I've spoken with T- carters that swear the stitch get 's a few more knots @ cruise, any tales? Cause I'm able to do either.

I could not find the STC you have. I wanted to use screws but ended up using the stitch method. Personal opinion, but I think the stitch is stronger and looks better. That's in the for what it's worth column. You can find my wing pictures at http://home.centurytel.net/wmelvin if you care to look.

      Re: Rib fasteners

I sued the Martin wires on my restoration. They didn't lay down between holes as well as I liked and I ended up putting another 1" tape over the 2" tape. This was Jim Miller's recommendation. Next time I would use rib lacing. Once you get in teh flow, that lacing goes on pretty fast.

Thanks folks; the lace method was my favored process. About the screws; they seem to be a line item on the "Razorback" STC...... and could very well be unusable w/ out the product, just a guess.
