I'm using the pre-purchase checklist on the Tcraft site as a basis and adding comments and one or two additional items in preparation for hitting the bushes. In the course of gathering information, several questions have arisen.
Here they are: anyone having any insight into answers? - Mike
1. There are several classical areas to insure get a look: wing and aileron spar damage, spar damage at the wing-attach point, the attach point brackets, and rust at the tail. Can you think of classical areas to look for damage?
2. How important is it that the a/c actually be weighed?
3. Logbooks: If the a/c has records for 10 years back, is that sufficient? 20? What if the logbooks don’t go back that far?
4. Aileron Spar: look for rot; apparently this is a classical place where rot occurs . Why is this a ‘classic place’?
