  • Ferry Services?

    Let's say you locate an a/c on the west coast, purchase it and want it ferried to the east coast. Are there companies that provide this service? Expensive? - Mike

    Mike;

    Check Barnstormers, I sent you one from there but I saw about 3 others after that.

      Mike why would you want to buy one out here? Everything costs twice as much here (except vegetables and wine.)

        Yeah; logistics could be interesting. How much you pay for a gallon of regular auto gas? - Mike

          To be truthful in my opinion,I have found the best deals on airplanes on the west coast.Mike,I do a lot of ferry flying during the fall and winter but have very little time to do much before Thanksgiving.I charge $150 per day plus all expenses and weather permitting I fly from dark to dark and if it has lights I'll fly until I just need to stop.I.E. It takes me about 2 hard days to fly a Super Cub or Husky from Seattle to east Ky. with about 100mph average speed.It will take almost another half day if I reverse the trip.If I'm grounded for a couple days due to weather the I only charge $50 for the days I can't fly.....and it has to really be bad for me to be grounded for a whole day.

            If you find something for sale here in the NW I could help with the pre-buy and possibly fly it home for you.

                Thanks Jason. Something east of the Miss River would allow me to actually see the plane prior to purchase, which is attractive - MIke
