Today I had to go to the PDX FSDO office to pick up some forms.
So I drove to Hillsboro only to find their offices at the KHIO airport empty. So I asked around and discovered that they had moved two miles or so from the airport into a business park.
I pulled into the parking lot and went to the closest ( and most convenient) entry door. Well, that was the employee entrance. The public entrace is around on the "front" (other side) of the building.
The small dark lobby presents a non-welcoming face to those entering. The receptionist sits low behind a counter and behind what appears to be a teller window with a tray for passing documents through. She didn't even look up when I entered - probably couldn't see or hear me through the glass.
It was really an off-putting experience but maybe that's the effect they were striving for.
