Hey Norman, just got the prices yesterday. Front strut 597.80, rear strut 563.20. Here is the kicker though. They are different profile than the old style. Both airworthy, but will look slightly different. Just a visual thing. Regards, Pete
Here are the other prices, just for reference. Front spar - 646.88, rear spar - 561.50, top cowl-125.08 per side, Bottom cowl- 462.41, nose bowl- 442.75, firewall - 250.12. Pretty reasonable, I think. For airplane parts. Quality HAS to be better than Wag Aero. Pete
Thanks Pete
I don't want to seem too cheap ( i am ) but are those spar and strut prices per pair?
$550 is what i paid for Front and rear spars for both wings a year ago . Lets see now $2420 minus $550 = $ 1870
1,870 US American dollars ? You sure were not talking Canadian money here? I bet we can do a lot of whittling here for that much money. In 1980 i paid $1800 for NC44496 and flew her home. But like i said im cheap. lets see if we can get anyone out there to drill a few holes and glue a couple of side plates on a couple of pieces of wood using the old spars as patterns for $1800. Im kinda slow but i bet someone could do it in eight hours. What You say guys?
OK , Ok, I hear that " cheap bastard " Remark

well, hell Norm, I'm cheep too. thats why I own a t-craft. oh, and by the way there are new "sport pilot" planes for sale for only 25,000 bucks! wow! now thats what i'm talking' bout.
that would be a sky boy ad that i got that price from.
i don't know about you guys, but i think i have sanded away all the love of owning an old plane from my hart. that is till i see the price of taylorcrafts going up each year.
Well Norm don't feel to bad. At lease you can buy a new strut. I had to ground my T-Craft today. Tail wire hardware. I can't find the tail wire hardware any where. The factory doesn't have it an all the places I have checked don't have it. I can get the wires but not the hardware. My hardware is in real bad shape. I am going to take them off an see if I can get a machines to make me some, unless someone out there has a spare set.
Just curious about where you can get wires?? The so called new wires do not have "approval" some are SS and most have the wrong thread (8x36) is correct.
WE here at the Foundation have stuff in and out all the time; do you need everything?? That is usually the problem , send to me off list . We have nipples, a few straps and the inserts should be available anywhere, are yours really bad??? bye Forrest
Victor,
I have 2 complete sets of tail wires and hardware for a pre-war t-craft.Both sets would need to be cleaned up,primed, and painted(light surface rust but nothing bad).If this will help I'll get them to you ASAP.Wait a minute...I might even have a complete set of hardware for the BC12D.Let me check on that this afternoon.I'll get back to you.
