  • It's Up!!!

After almost exactly a year, 95822 flew with me at the controls.
Four three points and an equal number of wheel landings and we were done for the day.
Max RPM even in the pattern was just a tad over 2000. I seem to recall having to pull power back to keep from getting to 2300.
Oil pressure is low at idle, which I understand is to be corrected tomorrow.
The cabin heat is on, which I'll correct on Sunday
The prop position needs to be adjusted; normally it's at the 10:00 position for proping; it is currently at the 0900, which is arkward.
    I'm pumped. - Mike

    Total to repair: $11,391
    Total paid by insurance:$10,250
    Out of pocket expenses: $1,141

        Mazeltov Mike!

Glad to hear you are back in the air. 2000 RPM seems a little low once you're in the air. You may have too much propeller, or not enough of something in the engine. I don't even think carb heat would cost you 300 RPM. Check all the engine stuff, mags, carb jets, throttle movement, mixture, etc. etc. etc. to make sure. Once you are certain the engine is doing what it is supposed to do, then see what you have in the prop department. I am guessing but if you have a good engine and only 2000 RPM, then you may have 3 inches too much pitch in the prop.

Thanks - I'll add your suggestions to things to discuss with my A&P.
I didn't think the mixture was adjustable (?)
