I thought that we had a thred on skes that we should have one on floats. I have been on floats for about a week and ive had more fun in the last week than ive had since last summer..... I have made about eight trips to my cabin on floats and it was so much fun.. I am a fishing guige in the summer and i had a few people to guide at my cabin for northern pike.. It was a blast they cought about twenty pike in about five hours the bigest two was about forty inches. I think that flying on floats is about the funnest flying there is. I just got my vg's i plan on doing alot of before's and afters as far as stall speed s and so on.. If anyone has any suggestions on what kind of test to do please reply. The thing is i have about a thousnd hours in this t- craft and i know this airplane very well. I will post the before and afters all stall speeds take off distances. This is going to be a great summer. I will be flying the t-craft all over alaska. If any one has any ??? about float flying im sure that the alaska gang can anser most if not all of your ????.. I would like to hear from all you people on floats here in alaska and the lower forty eight. Will post a few pic from our trip as soon as i get them back

Re: t-craft on floats
Howdy Lance,
I, for one, would be very interested in the performance with the VG's in place. I would also like any info on how the acft handles with the floats such as handling in stalls and unusual attitudes. I was once told that spins in an acft with floats was a NO-NO!
I know that this has been brought up before but does anyone have the VG's on an airplane that is on wheels? If so, how is the performance and are they worth the price?Best Regards

Howdy Carl,
Thanks for the direction. I knew that I had read something about VG's but couldn't remember where!!! Senior moments seem to be turning into senior hours!!!!!Best Regards

Re: t-craft on floats
Looks like it will be a few weeks before i put the vgs on. I cant tie up the plane yet i have alot of flying to do. I also haft to drive two jet boats about 60 miles up river and leave them there so i haft to fly the t-craft up there and leave it catch a ride back with someone then when i get the boats up there i can fly back should be a fun adventure.. As far as doing stalls with floats ive never had a problem they just make the nose break a little faster and your flying again. As far as spins it is harder to get it to spin than on wheels the floats act like a counter waght when the wing drops the floats want to streaghten you out. I have done spins with a comp. instructer i have never had a problem. The other thing i realy like about floats is they handle turbulece a lot better....Last edited by matsuthunder200; 05-19-2005, 01:42.Lance Wasilla AK
