    Re: Humbled by Tcraft

I don't even try to hold altititude in the Navion much less the Tcraft! I learned this long ago and with a wet compass it is a losing proposition to try to hold a heading. I pick a point on the horizon once I am on the approximate heading and just try to keep that somewhere near center, much easier than trying to follow a spinning compass.

I also found that rudder steering in the thermals was pretty much ineffective. I always kept my Stinson on course with rudder but that only works when the wings are somewhere near level. The Tcraft has the most adverse yaw of any plane I can remember but it has been a long time since I flew the J3 and 7AC so I may have forgotten.

It is a new challenge and I am going to enjoy it. I learned to fly on TDs, this thing can't get the best of me!!
