Re: Taylorcraft Factory
Thank you to all those who responded. Several now have contacted me relating terrible experiences. My aircraft N3698T will likely be lost to Harry's mismanagement along with $5,000 down payment. He will not return phone calls or honor his word. Be careful who you support. -ken 907-952-0357 mobile

Re: Taylorcraft Factory
Carl, The aircraft was shipped from Alaska to the factory for a rebuild and hydraulic brake upgrade. That was a year ago. The price quote for a recover included a 45 day turn around time. The last couple of months no progress has been made and none anticipated. Be advised of rumors of payroll checks bouncing and mechanics quitting. -ken

Re: Taylorcraft Factory
9 months ago I ordered $8000.00 worth of parts that I was assured I would get and after daily phone calls for 6 months we got about 15 percent of what I ordered and now Harry won't take my calls because I am asking for a refund. My advice is to have him ship you parts C.O.D then you can get what you pay for.
Still no takers for the party

Re: Taylorcraft Factory
I was just about to order parts for my bird a year ago but kept finding myself busy with other things. Boy am I glad I didn’t!
Sounds like grounds for a class action!
I’m not an attorney; I’m just some guy riding a motorcycle through Nicaragua. When I’m home, I am a small business owner. I just wish we could get someone reasonable to supply us with parts. If had to pay a little more, that would be fine with me.
When the company was moved to Texas a few of the tribe asked about investing and maybe putting together a group ownership program. It sounds like it could be for sale before long.

Re: Taylorcraft Factory
If, and I say IF, the Foundation ever wants to apply for some kind of federal, state or private funding to purchase the design and manufacturing rights, I volunteer to serve as a grantwriter. I made a living doing grantwriting a few years ago (OK, a marginal living but that's the charity world). I wrote over $1.5M in successful funding proposals for a small charity here in Los Angeles. If the leadership of the foundation decides to move in that direction, and if they identify one or more appropriate, applicable funding sources, I am fairly sure that I can write a good proposal. There may be more experienced grantwriters in this group, there may not. I don't know. But I'm here if I'm wanted.

Re: Taylorcraft Factory
VEry interesting; I of course have been getting calls all along. I still cannot understand people blindly jumping into business with an unproven situation. None of this seemed to be real. Prices, promises, etc... I have stated my opinion may times. Bill you are a great guy but the answer is not MORE grant money....... that has been the problem all along. WE the Taylorcraft Foundation have learned from the past mistakes of others... the Luscombe situation is the latest prime example. WE are what we are and if somebody wants to buy the factory again , then PLEASE hire the folks that can get it going and have at least 2.5 million in start up money and THINK about my previous business plan. bye ForrestTaylorcraft Foundation, Inc
