  • Highest RPM while on the ground?

While tied down, my recently semi-overhauled engine will develop a max of 2000 RPM.
I recall at least 2150 while in flight.
Is 2000 RPM normal when tied down? - MIke

    Continental Overhaul Manual

    Table of Specifications

Rated hp and rpm: 65 at 2300

    Recommended cruising RPM: 2150

This is not in the overhaul manual, but the static RPM should be about 2050.

Type Certificate says 2070-2250 static RPM for A65-8. An engine with new rings, honed cylinders and/or new bearings would probably be somewhat less in the first few hours since O/H.
