My short term goal is to build the shielded cans for my plugs.
I had a course in welding and brazing while in college, so the skill is not entirely foreign.
I was discussing brazing, and how I could gain access to a rig when a guy in the office said he had one of the MAPP/Oxy Benz-0-Matic set-ups I could use. He brought it in today with a sample of his handiwork. Looks like it will braze two pieces, 1/8" thick without much problem.
So I go to HD Aerospace to buy more O2. $7.00 for an amount that may last :10 if I'm lucky!
If I foresaw a lot of welding in my future, I'd spring for a full size rig, but I don't see much action. It will be the cost of that disposable O2 that's a killer.
Has anyone on the list interfaced a real O2 bottle to the Benz-o-Matic? - Mike
PS - today was the day my wife's cordless drill and bit grinder should have arrived; bought it off e-Bay. Missed Mother's Day.
