Window replacement for Bendix mags?

As we started to time the beast, the A&P discovered one of the 'windows' on the mag had been replaced with a piece of black plastic and held in place with safety wire (acting like a clip).

The other mag didn't have anything, so I don't have an example to go by.

A thin sheet of clear plastic can be cut to fit and held in place with a spot of "spooge" (aka RTV).

Alternative is to insert a wine bottle cork after timing the mags.
