  • A-65 slick mags

What have people been paying for a slick kit. Last I heard it was about $1000 after the rebate. Any better deals out there other than Aircraft spruce? Do they still come with the gears?

The last set I got from Mannituck. They were in the $1K area. They came with the gears. The cores have to be complete not just shells. If the cores have impulse couplings ask if they will accept the cores without the gears. The gears off the Case will fit the Slick mags. Also the Eiseman and Bendix impulse gears are worth saving.

I got mine from Mattituck also. They came with 2 impulse couplings and gears plus harness and plugs. I sent back a ratty old harness and two geriatric Eisemanns, neither had an impulse or gears. (I was able to sell the gears on eBay.)The total cost after rebate and core was a bit under $1000.

I also ordered from Mattituck, and received two mags, gears , harness and plugs. I paid $1171, which included shipping. No rebate. Received my Mag timing light yesterday from Wag, and will install the new Mags today.

Waiting for my modifed exhaust from Sonny to work with my heat shroud.

Made new baffelings, looks pretty good. One question tho ? I forgot ( I think on the bottom). the small baffeling that goes between the cylinders. Top or bottom ?

My intercylinder baffels were on the bottom.

How about some pictures of your project?

            Re: A-65 slick mags

Bob, I have pictures of part of my work. Need to take a few more. For some reasom mine are always to large to put as attachments. However I do have them on my site at:

So, if you woul go there. ( you may need to join, but it is very easy) and go to "Yellow Duck" on left side you can see the pictures I do have. Just left click on one of the tumbnail pictures and it will open up into a larger one and then click next at the top to view all of them in a larger format.

I installed my two Slick Mags yesterday, going to run the harness today. Plus reinstall the inner baffels on bottom. I had put them on the top. No big deal to change.

Now only waiting to receive my exhaust from Sonny. Spoke with him day before yesterday and said they should be on the way by this week-end.

I'll take and add more pictures as I get more complete.

Nice photos! I liked the one labeled "T-Craft Turning". Very dramatic.

Your exhaust shroud looks just great. I tried to repair and reuse my shroud and it looks, well...repaired and reused.

I'm going to use some of your photos for reference when I reassemble my T. Thanks for posting!
