Maybe it's sacrilege to talk about Cubs on the Taylorcraft forum. I was surfing around on the web while taking a break from the MEK fumes, and came across a company that's started up to produce the Cub again. They call themselves Legend Aircraft Company It's interesting times we live in when Taylorcrafts and Cubs are being built again. Has anyone heard how much they plan to sell the Cubs for?

Re: News to me!
Forrest talked to them and was Impressed. Said something like $64K thru $67K (CRS) depending on some options. Like any plane, or car, the price and run up fast for options and in this case get close to $100K if you get the gold plated fuel sump drains.
They had a nice display and a plane there to look at. It looked to be well made and the fabric covering looked first class.Bob Ollerton

Re: News to me!
Bob's prices are what I've heard. They are located in Sulfur Springs, and are a Class A operation! Several people I know have actually toured the operation and were very impressed.
They've already got a flying model and supposidly had it at Sun'n'Fun.Craig Helm

Re: News to me!
My same friend with the wrong price (he was the one that was at Sun N Fun and told me the legend Cubs were 100K ! ) also said that the "new 0-200 Continental in the Legend was indeed all new from Teladine-Continental and that it was a completely different engine which NONE of the parts from the old o-200 interchanged. He said the engine was even not on the market for public sale???? I am beginning to wonder what plant he was on . Anyone hear ANYTHING remotely like that????

Re: News to me!
I saw the plane at Sun-N-Fun and the price quoted was $67K to $69.8K depending on options.
The O-200 is a new standard O-200 with light-weight starter and alternator.
I sat in the plane and it has more room that than the PA-18-95 that I used to have. Solo from front seat and good visibility forward on the ground.Jerry in NC

Re: News to me!
Many folks from round here are talking about getting one. This company built two ships for Certification purpose on their own money & started taking orders three weeks ago. 10% down then I think about 40% as the fuselage comes out of the jig , etc... Real nice machine, lots of improvements. doors on both sides , wider & wider gear too... The price is about $67,000 for the Cub look alike ( open cylinders) and $69,000 for the closed cowl. check them out on their web site.... the 0-200 is the new one with I think Mattituck cyls.... ASK them!! www.legendaircraftcompany.comLast edited by Forrest Barber; 04-21-2005, 07:38.Taylorcraft Foundation, Inc

Re: News to me!
$67-79K !?!? How much more would it cost to get a Christen Husky? I mean, if you are going to spend that kind of money on a Cub (I only spent 14K on mine in 1995), then at least get the Cub on steroids
And $59K will get you a new Taylorcraft with the same power. Now if they had the gumption to widen the fuselage of the new Taylorcraft... THAT would be newsworthy! Raise the height of the wing attach fittings above the cabin by six inches.... THAT would bring us all to tears!

Re: News to me!
VB, I agree with you; however, will Harry actually ever buid one?????? And if he does, will he be around to back it up ? I would love to see him succeed, but, don't believe it will.
Best thing would be if someone would (with the ability)buy him out and really start a company that will start putting out Taylorcrafts. Would be nice.
May 21,suppose to have a "Sport Model" out . Will see? (In La Grange TX)
The Legend, I also spoke with them and most are correct about the price they told me. $64-$69K Depending ?Lee
