Howdy Gang. Anyone have a set of front lift struts they care to sell? They are going on a 1940 BL clip wing. Any one also know if the attach points are the same on a BL-65 as a BC12D ? If same I will not be concerned wth any length differences between the two as I am going to cut em down anyway (Cut out the bottom ..old portion where rust is most likely) Thanks!

Jim - I have one old style (smaller) rear lift strut that is bent about 18" from the outer edge. I bought a new, larger rear strut from Univar to replace it. I'm in New Mexico and still have the tube that the new one came in. Paid over $500 for that one plus air freight from Denver at $70. Not really sure what this one's worth. E-mail me offline if you are interested. Bob

      Re: Lift Struts

Jim, finally got the forum back. Was starting to get withdrawls here.
Just got it back a few minutes ago.

Measured my maule struts. They look very good almsost like new. /the front strut is 4 inches wide and the rear strut is 3 inches wide. The maule has a 30 ft wing span, and you may be able to use one end maybe even both, if you weld new fittings on the T-Craft. It is a very simple set-up.

I am going to Houston Tomorrow for the week-end; if you need it, I can take pictures and get the lengths.

Cost ? they had cost me $1500 back when I bought them;however, what ever you think they are worth to you. If I can live with it, we'll see.

I want to extend a big warm hearted thank you to Tom Baker who unannounced just went and sent me the drawings of the Taylorcraft Lift struts. I will be sending you Tom something of at least a token of appreciation to cover your costs. Taylorcrafters forever. With folks like him I will NEVER be without a Taylorcraft. THANK YOU !!
