  • Propeller Installation

When bolting the propeller onto the engine how should the blades be oriented in relation to where the engine fires. My prop appears to have been attached with the magneto impulse clack at about the 7 o'clock position (looking at the front of the plane). Is this correct for easy propping?

    Re: Propeller Installation

Sensenich says to "Locate the propeller on the engine flange, or adapter, in the most convient position for handcranking".
For me (I'm 6' tall) the most convenient position is when it's coming up on compression and the propeller is at 10 to 10:30 and the magneto clack comes at 9 to 9:30.
    This works for me.
