  • whats the difference

    HI all.

I have a prewar, BC-12. what is the difference between that and a bc-12-d?
And, correct me if I am wrong, but a c85-8 will bolt rigth up to the A65 mounts already on my bird. IF I buy the c85-12, then i need the long mount?

Found a c85-12 with the 0200 conv. for sale, and thinking that is the engine for me!

hey, why not, its only money.

Dan, just leave the starter and generator/alternator off...cover with gasketed blankoff plates, and it fits. Talk to your mechanic and I.A. first. Dick

      Re: whats the difference

The primary difference between the BC-12 and the postwar BC-12D is that the postwar ship uses the L-2 (model D) tail. I don't know about the B models but the C-85-12 with the starter and generator openiings covered has been used a lot on the L-2 with the original exhaust and mount with no alterations. In fact one of my customers used a C-85-12 with the O-200 conversion. Works great !! Dick
