  • Need Help in Alaska- Tires, ect.

Just found this site by accident, All members seem very helpful. I dont want to be a user but, I live on a small Island in S.E Alaska and knowledgable people (about T-crafts) is hard to find.
I have a BC 12 D w 0200, Full view plexi doors. Sky Lite, extra fuel, full electric, many more. Previous owner kept awsome records with complex drawings for stc's and 337's If anybody needs any of these let me know.
Anyway, I need some help on a couple of things,
#1. legally putting larger tires on my plane. I have 600X6 now and have been scared on a couple beach landings.
#2. I have a set of 1320's and rigging off a BC 12 D. But, no fittings NEED BOLT-ON FITTINGS let me know if you want to sell them. If not I'll look for new.
#3. We had 80 mph storm last month and I think I may have small problem with front left strut and or fitting. (After the wind ripped both front strut fittings off a super cub) I examined my extensively. I noticed a small gap in the attach fitting and small bulge on bottom of fabric. I many need to bounce a couple questions off a expert when I open this up.
Thanks for all your contributions and to the website, Hope to hear from You.

      Shane -

My dad lives in Sitka and I make it up there a once a year or so. I'll be up sometime this summer. I didn't see your bird at the airport at Christmas. Were you tied down anywhere near that 172 on it's back?

I have a 337 for 8.5x6 tires. I'll see if I can find it tonight and send it on to you. It's in PDF format.

          Shane,

I am just waiting for warmer tempertures in Faibanks to coincide with my days off so I can get a Tcraft that I'm buying down from Fairbanks to Anchorage. This plane sounds very similar to yours but has only the stock 24 gallons of fuel. how were they able to add more fuel? I'd be really interested in seeing any paperwork regarding that modification. Mine also is O-200 powered and has lots of other goodies too.

Here is the 337 that Rusty Coonfield gave me. I did not use it and still have the stock tires.

shane Do you have hyd, brakes if so the 26 inch goodyears wouldnt be a problem to get approved with a 337. at least here in wasilla they wouldnt.. As far as the bolt on float fittings if you cant find any used ones i can try to find out where to get the new ones. A buddy bought some last year.
