  • O-200-A and Brackett air filter (stock configuration?)

Does anyone know if the O-200-A on the F-19 came from the factory with a Brackett airfilter?

My IA is wondering as he says that the Brackett filter is usually an aftermarket addition.

I looked at the parts book and it doesn't call out the Brackett filter specifically but the drawing sure does look like one. The TC also doesn't call out a filter assembly.

Brackett was not original. the metal filter thatt you cleaned and soaked in light oil was original.

I called the factory this morning and it appears from the drawings that they have, the Brackett filter was standard after 1980. Does this jibe with your recollection Forrest?

Of course, that doesn't help me as I have a 1977 model. Oh well, we'll just do the paper work.

It was a lot more economic to use the brackett afterwhile. All the Lyc used them . That sounds correct , the Cont. filter went out of sight in price. Really not much paperwork to do, STC on a 337......
