Re: So you want to live on an airport, do ya?

Life has a lot of disappointments, big and small. The secret is to not let them eat at you and try to move forward. I gave my life to Jesus Christ and it made all the difference in the world when dealing with disappointment, regret and grief. I'm trying to stay in that path because we have something so much better to look forward to. Sin has caused all the suffering and it's not going to last forever. It will end too. I'm wishing you the best.

I'm still a blessed man & really thought I would be headed so much so as I said I bought the Bonanza & got my High Performance & Complex. But it seems not to be & I don't know why but he does & one day I'll know. Now on good days I'd be flying the '38 in years past I'm out shooting golf ball at 200 yards with a 22, soon to be 300 yards so I never get down except for one thing, when something like this happens you find how few real friends you do have.

Golf, tennis, fishing, marina, an archery and airgun range, swimming pools something called pickle ball, dog park and 2 airports with fuel farms. Ya'll come on down. We are not far from the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.
I'm just north of you at KWEA. Live on the runway and really enjoy it. Do you ever go to the Granbury pancake breakfast? I have two young girls and one on the way so my Saturdays are often busy, but we'll make it there before long.

Dad always talked about the private farm strip and apparently it took root. Just out of the USAF I dumped every dime we had into a plot of raw land on an airpark and went from there. That was 20 years ago and frankly, I would probably not be in private aviation if I could not have my hangar further than 15 feet from my home. There is no other way to live IMHO.

The power strugles and politics are a bitch at times, but the ability to be airborne within 5 minutes of the first urge to fly is nothing short of priceless.

Been living at 2A2 for a bit more than three years. Paved field, ~4800' with GPS approach to both sides. It's gated and has it's own volunteer fire department.

Even though it's not listed on the website or MLS, I do have a 3.79 acre lot I'd be willing to part with if anyone is interested. It has an excellent view.

Don't you hate it when you can't come up with something witty or profound for your signature??

I just wrote a long post, and even though I had logged in, the system would not accept it. So this is a trial post and I will attempt next to re-construct what I was posting about me living on my own airport.,
