Re: Yoke Bushings / side windows / headliner.

Thanks Marty as always for the info. My cover/glare shield is 0.020 aluminum painted black wrinkle with a rubber U-channel glued all the way across the pilot side and around the rest forward. The cardboard would work too. The rubber U protects the other stuff and holds the screws and finishing washers at the panel. The backside has flat rubber strips attached to dampen any drumming and reduce abrasion on the fuel tank and lines. It's a two minute job to access the parts forward of the panel and the mechanics that are larger than 1940's fit find it helps their inspections and maintenance. When the elevator control yoke is moved it can contact wires and things so inspecting that is a bonus. The yoke bushings are easily accessed as well.

Thank you all! This is great information! I know the top of the panel comes off after removing the screws across the top. I will let you know how it goes. As soon as we get a relatively warm day, here right now that would be above 40 degrees we will get up to the hangar and start the project
