  • Handheld Radio Mount Option

I've seen a few questions on here about where to mount your radio. My T-craft like many doesn't have an electrical system so I use a handheld Nav/Com. My dad thought this up several years ago before I got the plane from him. Essentially he used a simple metal spatula, cut out an area for the clip so the radio would sit down centered on it, and then mounted it just below the seat in the center, using about a 2" wood spacer to allow room for the seat padding that hangs over. There is a PTT switch then that runs up and hangs under the throttle which has been really convenient. You can also see next to it in the pictures where the battery powered intercom sits on the passenger side mounted next to it. Anyway, just thought I would pass it along. There are some pictures below that should help but let me know if you have any questions or need me to measure or take any more pictures.
