Another average day in paradise. Hate to see all you guys with the cold and ice. Was a little cold here also, but did get into the high 60's by afternoon and little wind 010 @ 7. Just perfect for my strip. Blue skies, smooth, perfect for T-Craft's. Went alone, but very enjoyable. Went all the way up to 1500 ft. LOL

But we are having a HEAT wave.

It's 17 degrees, above, ( it was below zero last night) cloudy, and the wind is out of the South Southwest at 33mph, and our runway is 12/30 and covered with ice and snow. Not much snow. Barely enough to go ski flying. We are about 2 ft. below average snow fall. Poor winter for people that want snow.

I turned the heat on in the hanger, and it will be warm enough to work out there as soon as I sign off.

You probably guessed, This is Minnesota. Good weather for rebuilding airplanes.

Ah folks as a guy that grew up in Pittsburgh PA and been in South Carolina since College ,one can relate to both your plights. Lee is kind of quiet bout how great things are around June July and August. What with the air real thick the bugs ready to carry you off and the general hazy day mailaise that seems to settle in during that time in the south why not be? You guys up north just enjoy that cool(ok downright nasty cold) crisp air and feel free to
dial us southern boys back up in late July. Tell us all about the beautiful late afternoon flights ...go ahead pay back as thay say is...............

Just returned from a flight to KSPB for fuel.
(Scappoose, Oregon has the least expensive fuel in the northwest, for thoes who my like to know.) Upon opening the hanger doors, found the floor as if it were flooded, tho no rain. Windows and skin of plane were soaked with consendation, as were all else. The rapid rise in temps caused the hanger to look like a rain forest. The fabric was as if it were skin of an old person who has been in the hot tub too many hours, all soft and wrinkly looking! So off for fuel we went to dry her out. When rolling her back in the hanger, she still had wrinkles. Rapid temp and dew point changes could cause more harm!

We all have our woe's. Different time of the year, Jim is correct. Down right nasty many days in July, Aug, and part of Sep. T-Storms, hot, and of course the good ole Hurricanes. They be a coming too.

We all have great flying at some point, and ours is winter, spring and fall. Summers are hell. Hot Humid and Nasty. But still I love it here. Hurricanes give you lots of warnings, and Summers we can escape to visit our Northern friends. Ride our motorcycles, take the old cars out for a lazy afternoon ride. Or, kick the A/C down for some cool air. Sit under the Oak Trees and sip Mint Julips. And winters for the most part are great, except for Feb. But then there is Mardi Gras, so that isn't bad either.

05:17 now AND CURRENT TEMP. IS 50 DEGS. Going to be in the low 70 or high 60's today.

Yesterday was another nice flying day. Burning a little of the sugarcane, so made for patchy spots of smoke, but still could see forever. Air was calm and all was good with the world and South Louisiana in T-Craft Country.
