Solar Panel Charger for Handheld Devices

I utilize a handheld GPS and carry those small portable batteries, the type you can use to recharge a cell phone, to recharge the gps on longer trips. I decided to try a small solar panel on the dash and was able to test it yesterday. The concept worked great and kept the battery fully charged. It is a Harbor Freight item and seems to be well-built. There is a red light that lights when the panel is working. Ignore the small mount with Velcro, that is for my PCAS.

Suzy with the maroon Taylorcraft did this many years ago when she flew down to Lakeland from MI I think
She was on this forum but not heard from her in a long time.
