Sure John, I agree for a repair, the wing has been trammeled already and maybe you do one bay with a trammel bar or put the nuts back exactly where they were, sure I get it. But do we really do that at initial wing assembly? I just don't think its done that way.
maybe we do it different

Either way it wouldn't help on this particular situation, since it's down the side of the fuselage.
I do however take issue with you saying that they've "screwed me over big time" and "have shown no regard". Nobody has intentionally hidden any risk hoping that it would screw you over. As Andy said, there will be something in the manual. It's being worked on right now. I know him personally and he's not the sort of guy (Nor were Stewarts or any of the other people involved) that purposefully leaves out something, hoping it will screw something up. Just my 2cents and worth what you paid. I'm sure it doesn't carry much weight. If I was closer, I'd gladly come help you repair the damage.
I'm done with this thread.
I used Stewart Systems when I recovered in 2014. And I use AutoFuel.
No paint problems, even though I have overfilled both the main and wing tanks on several occasions.
I don't know anything about what additives may, or may not be in the fuel that we use here.
A quick estimate sugggests that I've run about 1000 gallons (of some combination of AvGas and auto fuel) through N6872 since the restoration
