Jason, I expect the net effect of all this will be "no more 'new' 337's issued"...I think the thrust of the forum comments you noted is a push to send in examples of really good and to be desired, proven, field approvals, in hopes of getting them "locked-in" before the concept of field approvals is eliminated on some yet to be determined, (or more likely, yet to be announced) date...just my guess. Dick
I think dick is right . seems its just a matter of time and there will be no more 337s approved. I have around 16 337s approved for my t-craft i shure am glad i got everything approved while the approving was good. Its so hard to get anything approved now unless there is a stc for it.
Guys- I work with Bill and I encourage you to send in ideas. This has been in the works for a long time and has recently gained momentum. It will be a good thing for all older aircraft as 43.13 will be considered "approved data". I have discussed with him tons of things to consider. Do not send airframe specific items though. . . . one of mine was to allow the use of any small 4 cylinder continental (O-200 down) to replace the aging A65, Hydraulic brakes, skylights, portable electric systems, ski's, floats, cowlings, the list goes on. You have to speak up to be heard!!!

Flying is easy- to go up you pull back, to go down you pull back a little farther.
Speaking of 337's for your plane Lance, I was up at Mark's Sat. and was coveting those big tires you have for your T-Craft. Do you have a 337 for those? If so, where did you get the tires and about how much do they go for? I've presently got a guy working on a 337 for my Aero skis that kind of fall in between the approved size - they're 1800's. I'm in no hurry on the tires, of course. Steve
Steve I do have a 337 for the tires mark got them approved. They are not bad in price i think i paid about 700 for them compaired to 2900 for the 26 inch bush wheels. They also work real well i go alot of places that you cant get into with 850s. There great for carabu hunting landing on the tundra is no problem even in the fairly ruff stuff. No problem on pavement eather. I bought them at stodderds in anch. and bob has them at glacier in palmer also
