    Re: right hand brakes

Here are some links to pictures of right hand brake installations

The first is in my "Neat Stuff" section of Captain Jon's Taylorcraft Hnagar web site ( http://taylorcraft.info )

The rest are individual pictures from Tami T-Craft's restoration section

    Hope that helps out.

      Good pics all around.
I looked under 822 (she's open at the moment) and saw the bend and welding required; then saw Jon's pic, again with welding. When I first saw Gary's pics, I couldn't visualize how that back clamp could withstand the force/lever-arm that would occurr with brake application. Now I see the front brace.
Now - who makes it, who has the necessary paperwork, and how far down the cables do the secondary (pax side) cables join the primary? - Mike

Just struck me. Arn't those essentially "stap - on" (no, wrong term) brake pedals? and as such are not permenant and therefore do not need fed approval?

No MIKE they are "installed".... Now when you guys out there go to do them: "pin" the clamps to the tubes with a drilled hole & a #6 sheet metal screw or a drive screw and band over top. Keeps the contraption from shifting about ,especially the pulleys. bye Forrest
