    My Stinson has 5 springs in the head it weighs 94 lbs on the tail the tcraft has 3 springs and it and it weighs 69 lbs on the tail both steer great and caster perfect.

      I believe the fork (Part #14) allows for 5 springs...but don't know if that was a running change over time or an originally machined design. The two added springs aren't captured by a pin but can add stability to the assembly. I recall seeing a torque value for tightening the pivot shaft nut but don't have it. Airframes might have one...my mechanic sets them up by feel...tight but still able to rotate with the rudder while unloaded without hanging up. He also sets the wheel bearings to not freely rotate so the wheel doesn't spin and wear while flying. If you ever flew alongside a plane with a loose spinning wheel you'd know what I mean.
