  • Trick-air Ski's on a Taylorcraft

    All
we just got 12" of beautiful snow in Northern Illinois, ski planes are flying all over C77. We currently have federal 1500 and really enjoy ski plane flying. Knowing it is going to be 60 by Wednesday(which means put them on, take them off, put them on ...).
I and am wondering if anyone has heard of or seen a T-craft (pre-war 1940) on wheel penetrating ski's like Trick-air??

    thanks again

I have TrickAir skis on my F21. They work great. Just got 2" of snow here in Western NY.

Thanks for the reply, did you need a field approval for the install or is there an stc out there.
I am not familiar with F21's, is the gear configuration the same as a BC12D?
      Thanks Again

        Paul,

I had to use a field approval since there was no STC for a Tcraft. I got pictures for the skis on a Tcraft in Canada and used that in addition to the 337. No problem. TrickAir is now out of production. Too bad. Great product. Do you know Jim Priess who live at the airport in Poplar Grove. I bought Baumann 1500A floats from him this summer and still in the process of getting the blessing from the feds to put them on. I've currently got Baumann 1500 straight floats that are for sale. No water to play in around you.

I don't think I have met Jim Priess, but thanks on the info about the ski's
i talked to the people at trickair today and they thought the might have some info
They indicated that the bracket would need to be fabricated and welded on
            Thanks again

              Paul,

I have pictures of the Canadian installation and mine if that will help. Send me a PM with your address and I send them to you if you can get the skis.
