    The threads are 3/8"
    there is an elbow between the tank and the valve. male end with finger strainer goes into the tank, female to the valve.
    the out end of the valve is female.
    there is a coupling between the valve and a hose connector on the other side of the firewall.

    That coupling caused eyebrows to be raised. for some reason, some previous owner could not find a coupling with the correct thread, so he found the closest he could, and soldered the coupling to the valve. bizarre. - Mike

      I am attaching a lateral image of my fuel cut-off valve and it appears that the inlet and outlet sides are both female fitting.
