  • Back from Factory

    Hi Tribe:

Made it to the factory, everything is pretty much the same. He was working on a couple of older T-Craft, doing restortation work. And was actualling starting my T-Craft by pulling all the tubing and hopefully starting some welding. But he has lot to go. He does have a few Engine Mounts. Didn't see any wings started, or landing gears. Needs lots of sub groups to be built. No fabric work being done.

I wish him all the best. He is suppose to have the FAA in again today (Wed.) to inspect and give approval on the new fuel tanks.

He appears to have about eight or ten employees working in the factory. The A & P School seems to be going well and looks like will get off the ground soon. They have the support of the local Community College.

I didn't stay but a few hours when I saw that no new aircrafts were actualling being built at this time. Don't know if I will be able to wait as long as may be necessary. I truly believe that he will be building NEW Aircrafts and restoring older ones. Also providing many new and NOS parts that is available. He is planning on installing Hyd brakes and SS firewalls on the Taylor Sport.

I know they have been working and trying to get things going, and will start as soon as they can. Also, I am certain there is lots more I was not able to see or have the time to cover.

As I was leaving a fellow from Iowa was in to look and possible purchase a new Taylor Sport. But, he is like me, OLDER and doesn't have lots of time to wait.

      Re: Back from Factory

Nope, no way would it be possible for it to be ready in Jan. Maybe in June or July if they really got on it now.

I believe Harry's biggest problem is trying to make improvements at the beginning rather than put out a product as it was and then add improvements. Those are my feelings only, noone elses. But we will see. Altho, the improvements are for the better. It is just that I can't wait that long. I am going to try and get my deposit back, if possible and see about an O-200 from Don's Dream Machines' or someone and go from there.

I just do not have the luxury of time. I am near 68 and my health is getting questionable. If it hold up, then I can fly for a few more years, if not then i will stop whenever I must. But not before then. I would like to have an aircraft that is capeable of getting me and my wife out of my strip in safety.Hopefully Harry will see fit to return my $6000 so I can go on and do what I must as soon as I can.

Keep us posted. I'm sure everyone has an interest in how this turns out.

Weren't you just told on December 5th that the airframe would be completed this week?

Lee I have been watching to see if you would end up getting your new t-craft. I hoped that you would because if i new of only a few were being finished i would order the 180hp taildragger. It would be so nice to have a brand new plane. I hope everything works out for you. keep us all up to date on this.
