Is it a cart for big 2-bladed props?

Put the dolly under the nose, set the prop horizontal, pick up the tail and cradle the prop on the dolly and then push the plane back further into the corner of the hangar. Next thing you know, women will be voting!!

Or more simply put, storing a taildragger on it's nose and still having the ability of moving it about.

How much practice does it take before you can nose over in exactly the right place on the runway to get it to work?

I have a 1944 photo of 23 L-2's standing on their nose this way in the old balloon hangar at Ft. Sill, OK. Wish they were still there!

                Chet,
Can you post a copy of that picture. Would love to see it.

This is not the exact same type, and it includes wheel dollys, but you can get the basic idea.

                    Re: Forum a bit quiet

During the war (WWII) when you could not fly Private ships unless CAP or a good reason we had 14 Taylorcrafts stored in the old barn , wings off and up on their noses. We used to store the ships in the big hangar by merely tipping them up till the top of the rudder ( protected by a rubber donut) touched the roof trusses. ah the good old days.....
